Jo Dale Carothers
Shareholder, Weintraub Tobin, Past-President SDIPLA
Jo Dale Carothers is a shareholder and chair of the firm’s Intellectual Property group and a member of the Litigation group. She is an intellectual property litigator and registered patent attorney. Jo Dale has represented companies in litigation in numerous federal district courts and state courtsacross the country, the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals, and in Section 337 investigations in the United States International Trade Commission (ITC)
Nicole Green
Director, U.S. Legal Affairs, Dexcom
Nicole currently serves as Director of Legal Affairs and New Markets at Dexcom. She was previously Corporate Counsel at Experian. She also held the position of Corporate and Compliance Counsel at MicroVention. Nicole began her legal career as a Corporate Associate at Stradling Yocca Carlson & Rauth. She is a graduate of the University of Michigan Law School, and earned her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Davis.
Lisa Ramsey
Professor, University of San Diego School of Law
Ramsey was an intellectual property litigation associate for four years at Gray Cary Ware & Freidenrich (now DLA Piper) in San Diego and was a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Rebecca Beach Smith of the U.S. District Court in the Eastern District of Virginia. She joined the USD School of Law faculty in 2004. Ramsey’s article, “Descriptive Trademarks and the First Amendment” in 70 Tennessee Law Review 1095 (2003), was judged by the editor of the Intellectual Property Law Review (Tripp, ed.) (West, 2004) to be one of the best intellectual property law review articles of 2003.

Dr. Rose Thiessen represents individual and business clients in patent prosecution and licensing for chemical, pharmaceutical, medical device, and other life science technologies. Rose’s practice includes patent portfolio management and filing strategies in the U.S. and abroad, client counseling on issues related to licensing, infringement and trade secrets, and intellectual property due diligence in conjunction with financing, partnerships, acquisitions, and IPOs.
