Mr. Bryan is in charge of providing legal and strategic advice on use of the PCT, PCT-related teaching and training, relations with PCT users, the PCT Infoline, the PCT portion of the WIPO website and the PCT legal and informational texts. He is a frequent speaker on PCT and WIPO matters, and often represents the PCT and WIPO at meetings of national and international attorneys’ and IP owners’ associations, such as the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA), the American Bar Association’s Intellectual Property Law Section (ABA-IPL), the Intellectual Property Owners Association (IPO), the Asian Patent Attorneys Association (APAA), the Interamerican Intellectual Property Association (ASIPI), and the Association of the Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM), among others.
A national of the United States of America, Mr. Bryan joined WIPO in 1992. Before joining WIPO, Mr. Bryan served as a Law Clerk on the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit to Chief Judge Randall R. Rader and to Senior Judge Marion T. Bennett. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Brigham Young University and a Juris Doctor from BYU’s J. Reuben Clark Law School. He is a member of the State Bar of California since 1990, and speaks English, Spanish and French.
