Speaker Bio:
John Land has over 40 years of experience in intellectual property law and is expert in providing counseling and services designed to obtain, protect, and monetize intellectual property rights. He is also expert in pre-litigation opinions, and in-licensing of software, technology, and intellectual property. Mr. Land has represented technology-based entities from startups to Fortune 100 corporations. While each level of enterprise has its own challenges, he particularly enjoys working with young companies in a wide variety of technology fields.

Experience
Mr. Land brings 40+ years of broad experience to the Firm regarding patent, copyright, trade secret, trademark, and unfair competition matters, and in technology and intellectual property licensing. Trained early on in intellectual property litigation, Mr. Land has taken or defended hundreds of depositions in a wide variety of intellectual property litigation and ITC actions. Mr. Land now focuses on perfecting rights in intellectual property and protecting and monetizing those rights. In the course of his practice, Mr. Land has personally prepared over 250 U.S. patent applications and written over 200 patentability opinions and over 100 opinions on the issues of patent validity and/or infringement. In addition, Mr. Land has negotiated and prepared hundreds of licenses for software, electronics, and biotechnology clients, and has often lectured on intellectual property topics.
