The rise of AI is quickly changing the landscape of innovation. Starting with drug development, AI and AI adjacent technologies are becoming more prevalent in the innovation process. This rise in the role of AI in innovation is however challenging long-held beliefs and assumptions on what it means to innovate, what is innovative, and the balance of equity in protecting those innovations. This discussion focuses on the challenges and opportunities created by AI and innovation from an in-house, outside counsel, and USPTO perspective, and provides insights into the future of innovation.
