Dave McGowan and Sarah Vandervalk will present an exploration of the role that implicit bias may play in patent prosecution and litigation, and how practitioners can recognize and address their own implicit biases.

Dave McGowan is Of Counsel at Morrison & Foerster and the Lyle L. Jones Professor of Competition and Innovation Law at the University of San Diego School of Law. He teaches and writes in the areas of intellectual property, antitrust, and legal ethics.

Sarah Vandervalk is a former engineer and a current associate in Morrison & Foerster’s Intellectual Property litigation group.
